Retreats with Caroline Coggins

2 day Retreat in Shoalwater, WA

Friday 17 to Sunday 19 April

“Come where time stretches, stepping away from what is familiar.

Eat what supports, nourishes.

Just doing one thing, not becoming anything, just noticing, attentive.

Have you sat watching a child absorbed in some reverie, or play, just letting her be without interaction, or interruption? The child is able to do this, not worried about the idea of becoming, but simply interested, absorbed.

Can we learn something, about this? Does a yoga practice offer us something like this, a relaxed and open mind.

A retreat is a place and time to explore, relax, to draw back and see the wonder of the body and how well we can think and function when are minds are relaxed and at home in a body. Seated within ourselves, we see better. This is what happens in practice or coming to class, the slow rewiring, we feel refreshed because that is what happens, we get emptied out.

And begin afresh.”

It will be held at the St John of God Retreat centre Shoalwater Bay. Arrive on Friday to start an asana class at 4pm. Saturday will be a morning meditation followed by an asana class in the morning and afternoon. Sunday same as Saturday but finishing after lunchtime 1/2pm. Food will be healthy vegetarian. Rooms are mostly shared twin accommodation in the Seaview Units or limited single rooms are available in the main building.

Caroline Coggins is the principal teacher and director of the Yoga Centre, East Redfern in Sydney. She began studying with BKS Iyengar over 30 years ago and holds a senior intermediate teaching certificate.
